5 DIY Natural Cleaning Solutions Made From 4 Ingredients or Less

DIY-Home-Cleaner-FeaturedMost everyone knows these days to use baking soda and vinegar as natural products for an all purpose cleaner but if you really want to get the job done without it smelling like sour pickles in your home then try one of the awesome 4 ingredient or less natural recipes to clean and scrub your house into blissful cleanliness.

There are a lot of spritzes you can buy to clean mirrors, walls, clothes and upholstery. However, they probably all use petroleum based products that are bad for the environment. For a great cleaning solution that you can use on just about anything, try this recipe:

1. All Purpose Cleaner Ingredients:

500 ml of water
400 ml of distilled white vinegar
30 drops of lemon grass oil
3 drops of earth friendly liquid detergent

After you have assembled all the ingredients, find a large enough spray bottle and pour the liquid inside. Shake it up and you’re ready for some cleaning. The lemon grass acts as a natural anti bacterial agent but if you need something stronger, you can try tea tree oil as well.

This mixture is great for a variety of uses such as windows, mirrors, stainless steel, porcelain, cloth, etc. And what’s great about this home made green recipe is that it’s not only good for the environment but it’s so cheap to make as well. This is doubly important in an age where we need to take care about the environment but we also need to be budget conscious as well.

2. Disinfecting Cleaner Ingredients

2 cups of filtered water
1 cup of organic distilled white vinegar
20 drops of organic lemon essential oil
15 drops of organic basil essential oil

Simply combine materials, thoroughly stir, and pour into a glass spray bottle. Use as a disinfectant. It’s as simple as that to create your own at home cleaning spray.

3. Microwave Cleaner Ingredients:

1 cup of water
2 drops of lemon essential oil
2 drops of orange essential oil
Mix the 2 drops of lemon essential oil and the 2 drops of orange essential oil into the cup of water (make sure the cup is microwave safe). Place the cup in the center of the microwave oven and turn on 5 minutes. Allow the cup to sit without opening the door for 10 minutes after it stops to let the steam penetrate the dirt and grim inside. After 10 min. carefully remove the hot cup, discard the liquid, and wipe down the interior of the microwave oven.

4. Drain Cleaner Ingredients:

1/2 cup of vinegar(white distilled)
1/4 cup of baking soda.

Sprinkle the 1/4 cup of baking soda in the drain. Allow it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Pour the 1/2 cup of white distilled vinegar on top of the baking soda. Mixture will fix and bubble. Give it about 5 minutes to work, then follow with warm water in drains or warm water and run the garbage disposal for a minute to rinse out the cleanser.

5. Bleach Alternative Cleaner Ingredients:

1½ cups 3% hydrogen peroxide
½ cup lemon juice
12 cups filtered water

Combine the ingredients in a gallon-size bottle. Use to disinfect, whiten laundry, and clean kitchens, bathrooms, ceramic tiles and tubs.
